PDF Knitting Pattern for a Beardy Weirdy Beanie Hat, Beard & Neck Warmer

£2.50

This Beardy Weirdy Beanie Hat knitting pattern is just a bit of fun. I made the originals from 2 x 100g Balls of Wendy Serenity Chunky yarn (80 metres of yarn per ball). From this I managed to get two beanies, two beards and a neck warmer just by reversing the colours for each hat/beard. Great value!

The pattern is simple, just stocking stitch, garter stitch or rib and as long as you can knit two stitches together you'll be fine on the shaping. It knits up really quickly too, even better!

I used 6.5mm needles for the Beanies/Neck Warmer and 5mm needles for the Beards.

The tension is 13sts and 17 rows to 10cm/4″ square on 6.5mm needles. The finished hats will fit from a 21″ to a 23″ head. If you wanted them for kids you could just knit on smaller needles.

The Beard has a buttonhole at each end and there are buttons stitched on the inside of the hat so it's easy to remove.
